34 cc Fuel-Injected Engine: A Zenoah-Based Development Project

This historical Löweheiser development project used a Zenoah 32 cc base engine with a custom billet-machined crankcase and a longer-stroke crankshaft, producing a reported displacement of 34 cc. A 14 mm Löweheiser EFI throttle body was fitted to the reed-valve intake.

The article documents a development configuration rather than a current off-the-shelf product specification. Availability and suitability for a new installation must be confirmed separately.

What changed in the engine configuration

  • Zenoah-based single-cylinder two-stroke engine.
  • Custom billet crankcase and reed-valve induction.
  • Reported crankshaft stroke of 30 mm, an increase of 2 mm over the base arrangement.
  • Custom EFI throttle body with integrated servo and Löweheiser ECU.
  • A compact tuned exhaust discussed as an optional component.

These details identify the project described in the original report. They do not mean that the same parts can be fitted to every revision of a Zenoah engine without checking the interfaces.

Fuel testing and the limits of the original report

The original account reported tests with gasoline and Jet A-1. It did not provide the full procedure or supporting records needed to assess those results independently. A Jet A-1 demonstration is not proof of equivalent behaviour on JP-5 or JP-8.

The earlier article also listed output, engine-only weight, consumption and a low-temperature claim without complete test conditions. Those values are not presented here as validated current specifications. For a new project, request the configuration-specific data and the conditions under which it was obtained.

What to establish for a new integration

Identify the exact engine, required fuel and load. Confirm the intake dimensions, cooling, installation space, electrical supply and calibration. Evaluate fuel consumption at a documented operating point rather than relying on a throttle percentage alone.
