Ce concept profite \u00e0 la fois \u00e0 la logistique et \u00e0 la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Aujourd&#039;hui, les conditions techniques permettent leur application sur de petits moteurs de drones. L\u2019id\u00e9e ici est d\u2019utiliser un seul carburant pour tous les types de v\u00e9hicules, terrestres et a\u00e9riens. Le choix pour les drones \u00e0 carburant lourd est le m\u00eame que celui utilis\u00e9 pour les avions pilot\u00e9s : du carburant \u00e0 base de k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne comme le JP-5, le JP-8 ou le Jet-A1.<\/p>\n<p>Les petits moteurs \u00e0 allumage command\u00e9 qui utilisent des carburants lourds sont appel\u00e9s HFE (Heavy Fuel Engines) ou moteurs multi-carburants car ils peuvent fonctionner avec une large gamme de carburants, de l&#039;essence au diesel. Ce sont g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des moteurs \u00e0 deux temps en raison de leur construction simple et de leur faible poids.<\/p>\n<p>Les fabricants de moteurs de drones proposent diff\u00e9rentes solutions pour l\u2019utilisation de carburants lourds dans les centrales \u00e9lectriques des petits v\u00e9hicules sans pilote. Ils peuvent \u00eatre class\u00e9s en deux groupes principaux : l\u2019injection directe et l\u2019injection indirecte.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Injection directe dans les moteurs multi-carburants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L\u2019injection directe consiste \u00e0 injecter le carburant directement dans la chambre de combustion. La soci\u00e9t\u00e9 australienne Orbital est \u00e0 la t\u00eate du d\u00e9veloppement de cette technologie et de nombreux fabricants utilisent la technologie Orbital, aujourd&#039;hui connue sous le nom d&#039;injection directe assist\u00e9e par air (AADI). Par exemple, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 XRDi, qui travaille sur des syst\u00e8mes de propulsion l\u00e9gers, \u00e9conomes en carburant et \u00e0 faibles \u00e9missions, a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 des moteurs multi-carburants (MFE) dans lesquels une technologie de construction exclusive a \u00e9t\u00e9 appliqu\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>M\u00e9langes de carburant et d&#039;air (MCDI)<\/strong><\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/i.ytimg.com\/vi\/nOv3_bna0y8\/hqdefault.jpg?resize=550%2C413&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>Le syst\u00e8me MCDI utilise un petit compresseur dans chaque cylindre, ce compresseur injecte le carburant et l&#039;air dans la chambre de combustion via une buse.<\/p>\n<p>D&#039;autres exemples d&#039;injection directe sont les moteurs d\u00e9velopp\u00e9s par Cosworth et Ricardo. Les deux utilisent des syst\u00e8mes d\u2019injection m\u00e9canique similaires \u00e0 ceux utilis\u00e9s dans l\u2019injection m\u00e9canique diesel automobile.<\/p>\n<p>Ricardo Wolverine 3 HFE<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.uasvision.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Wolverine.jpg?resize=680%2C284&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"284\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Le moteur \u00e0 combustible lourd Cosworth AG<\/p>\n<p>Ces moteurs sont des solutions tr\u00e8s co\u00fbteuses et leur application est limit\u00e9e aux drones destin\u00e9s \u00e0 des applications militaires comme l&#039;Insitu EagleScan (Boeing).<\/p>\n<p>Le fait est que la complexit\u00e9 technique d\u2019un syst\u00e8me \u00e0 injection directe n\u2019est pas n\u00e9cessaire. De nombreux autres constructeurs ont opt\u00e9 pour l\u2019injection indirecte.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Injection indirecte dans les moteurs multi-carburants<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>L&#039;injection indirecte est le syst\u00e8me d&#039;injection couramment utilis\u00e9 dans les v\u00e9hicules \u00e0 allumage command\u00e9 (essence). C\u2019est une solution bien plus abordable que celles expos\u00e9es pr\u00e9c\u00e9demment.<\/p>\n<p>La plupart des constructeurs de moteurs \u00e0 fioul lourd ont opt\u00e9 pour l&#039;injection indirecte : 3W, SKY POWER, Sonex Research ou Northwest UAV, pour n&#039;en citer que quelques-uns.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i2.wp.com\/cdn.thumpertalk.com\/uploads\/monthly_2019_05\/image.png.860aa95fe38221e28768410471d81e71.png?w=680&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"680\" height=\"407\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>Le principal probl\u00e8me des moteurs \u00e0 fioul lourd \u00e9quip\u00e9s de syst\u00e8mes d\u2019injection indirecte est le d\u00e9marrage \u00e0 froid. L&#039;atomisation du carburant n&#039;est pas aussi bonne qu&#039;en injection directe et l&#039;allumage du m\u00e9lange est plus difficile sur les moteurs indirects. Pour cette raison, certains constructeurs ont d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 leurs propres syst\u00e8mes pour faciliter le d\u00e9marrage. Ils chauffent le carburant ou la chambre de combustion pour faciliter la vaporisation du carburant.<\/p>\n<p>Par exemple, Sonex Research a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 sa propre technologie de moteurs \u00e0 fioul lourd (HFE). Le syst\u00e8me de combustion Sonex (SCS) associ\u00e9 au syst\u00e8me de d\u00e9marrage \u00e0 froid brevet\u00e9 (CSS) permet aux moteurs convertis de d\u00e9marrer de mani\u00e8re fiable \u00e0 basse temp\u00e9rature avec JP-5, JP-8 ou Jet-A1. Le CSS se compose d&#039;un vaporisateur de carburant chauff\u00e9 et d&#039;un chauffage de chambre de combustion.<\/p>\n<p>Un autre exemple d&#039;injection indirecte de carburant lourd est celui de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Advanced Innovative Engineering. Dans ce test, ils d\u00e9marrent le moteur avec de l&#039;essence et effectuent une transition vers JP8 avec le moteur d\u00e9marr\u00e9.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ast-oembed-container\" style=\"height: 100%;\"><iframe title=\"Test de carburant 225CS JP8 - Advanced Innovative Engineering (UK) Ltd\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kmde1KJWRGs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Je trouve cela peu pratique pour un client mais en pratique une fois le moteur d\u00e9marr\u00e9 et chaud il n&#039;y a pas de changement de fonctionnement sauf qu&#039;il faut utiliser une cartographie un peu diff\u00e9rente.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conclusion<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bien que les constructeurs s&#039;efforcent de r\u00e9aliser des d\u00e9veloppements sp\u00e9cifiques pour le fioul lourd, le fait est qu&#039;aucune modification du moteur n&#039;est n\u00e9cessaire hormis la table des carburants pour faire fonctionner un moteur avec des carburants \u00e0 base de k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne comme le JP-5, le JP-8 ou le Jet-A1. Le moteur sans aucune modification doit \u00eatre chauff\u00e9 au-dessus de 60\u00baC pour faciliter le d\u00e9marrage.
